• Pete’s stoked to start the new year!

• Pete will be in the edc office during MWF studio hours

• Sign up for office hours – Pete’s looking into finding us a newer, doper office – but we need to represent and try to be in the office as much as possible

• New meeting times! What works for everyone? Monday at 8pm is the new time – we need to email this out to everyone…

• We are meeting next Monday at 8 (MLK day) Be there or else!

• Coordinator Party – where? When? The party will be on Friday, January 19, 2007, location to be finalized ASAP. This is for EDC folks, it is meant to be an intimate gathering so we can all get to know how fabulous we all are. We need to figure out the stipend scenario for this event.

• Hannah on Good Earth Home, Garden and Living Show: January 26, 28th. Hours include: Friday 5-8, Saturday 11-8, Sunday 11-5. Brooke Muller is speaking on Saturday night at the show at 8 regarding sustainable design. The booth will have a banner, fundraising pamphlets, and will largely focus on HOPES. There will be a box on the green roof installation and the solar kiosk. There will also be a podcast of last year’s HOPES. There should be an EDC coordinator there during all volunteer hours. Set up is Wednesday, take down is Sunday – time for this should be about an hour to an hour and a half. If there are any past EDC projects that you know of in the Annex that would be good to showcase, please let Hannah know. Kris – how about the water charette from last year?

• John on HOPES: Teaser debut – they look great! Good work Brian and Tracey! Panels – ideas about different panels? Speakers – Paul Kempart as a keynote – bio and greenroof man, Joan Nassauer, David Hull are the mains so far Design charette – 3 mile stretch of Franklin, potential product design with sustainable business folks (market sustainability), John would like to make the charette different from a studio, it is important to include a lot of people Kris on this topic – do people outside of design school know what a charette is? Is including the business students in a product design slightly far fetched? John – there may be ways to collaborate and make this work and give it a slightly more ‘real world’ edge, dealing with budget and marketing and finding an overlap with a product design. Hannah – a possible idea would be a new location for the Saturday market (not the whole market, just one small part) Pete – shouldn’t we be designing something to do with water? An idea to design a product having to do with water and what can be done with it, how to distribute it. John – wants to push a product design charette, how to bridge a gap between different groups of people, between academics and reality, including water, figuring out how to market sustainability Brian – in support of the product design idea – so am I! John – is meeting with the sustainable business folks – would like to meet with others and do a lot of outreach on the charette – if you think of any other charette ideas let John know – he is also thinking about the Franklin Blvd charetteJohn – on HOPES workshops Hannah – LEED, Trashy Fashion Show, Yoga in the morning, rainwater catchment workshop, bioswale installation, indigo dyeing workshop (art department), water footprint workshop Tours: river walk, where does our water come from? tour Sara - Paul Kemphart (green roof keynote) could possibly do a workshop?
